Ronald McDonald House®
Few medical crises are more devastating or frightening than a child with a life-threatening disease or an unexpected injury or illness. When a family has to travel to another city to receive medical care, the added stress and financial burden can be overwhelming. The Ronald McDonald House was created to help ease some of these burdens and allows families to stay together.
Our home includes:
· Two Kitchens and Dining Areas
· Private bedrooms with bath
· Laundry Rooms
· Media Room
· Playground equipment
· Picnic tables & grills
· Wheelchair accessible rooms / facilities
· Large library of books & family DVD's
Nineteen guest bedrooms provide privacy and a peaceful night's rest. Bedrooms will accommodate families of different sizes, from 2-5 people. Cribs and rollaways are available for guest use.
Sometimes, the simplest convenience can make a big difference. Three laundry areas, complete with bleach and detergents, are available for guest use.
Two kitchens with three cooking areas and a well stocked pantry makes meal preparation pleasant and inexpensive.
Fresh homemade cookies and dinners prepared for families several times a week make the kitchen the Heart of the House.
Desktop computers, provided through generous community donations, allow guest families to stay connected with family members and to research their child's illness. Also provided at the Idaho Ronald McDonald House are laptop computers and digital cameras for family use during their stay.
Our common areas include:
· Living room
· Large backyard with playground equipment
